Duluth Youth Hockey Tournaments 2026-27: Hotel Rules, Rinks and Dates

None of the Duluth-area host pages we read on Oct 15, 2026 require a team to book a particular hotel. The Duluth Amateur Hockey Association (DAHA) says to call a partner hotel directly. Hermantown offers a room block at one hotel.

What does DAHA say about hotels?

DAHA's Hotel Partners page, read Oct 15, 2026, asks teams to call hotels directly.

The page says: "Please call the hotel directly to book your block of rooms and get the lowest hotel price (do NOT book through a third party such as Hotels.com, Kayak, Expedia, etc.)"

That is the only booking directive on the page. It names no penalty and no deadline. It lists 18 hotels, from Canal Park Lodge to the Radisson Duluth Harborview.

The page also says there will be "a $10 line item on your bill" with $10 of the price "TAX FREE in a rebate to DAHA." The page discloses this before you call.

Which DAHA tournaments are on the calendar?

DAHA lists the ten events below for 2026-27, most with a 4 game guarantee. Our pages mark the hotel rule for each as suggested, not required. The last column is what the DAHA page showed on Oct 15.

The Icebreaker Invitational, a girls event on Jan 8 to 10, 2027, is listed as invite only. We have no page for it.

The DAHA tournament page names no rink for these events. Its arena scheduling page, written for DAHA team ice, lists Fryberger, the Heritage Center, AMSOIL Arena, Mars Lakeview and Wessman Arena. Ask your tournament director which rinks your games use.

What about Spirit of Duluth?

The 50th Spirit of Duluth runs Dec 4 to 6, 2026, and its page urges early booking but sets no requirement. It says: "Hotels tend to fill up quickly with teams and tourists, so please book ASAP."

Entry is $2,200 for Bantam AA, Peewee AA and Junior Gold, and $1,900 for Squirt A. The details page names the Sill and Seitz arenas at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center, Mars Lakeview, Fryberger, the DECC and an arena in Superior, Wisconsin. Accepted teams must be prepared for the possibility of playing as early as 8:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The official site is spiritofduluth.com.

What does Hermantown say?

Hermantown's host page, read Oct 15, 2026, makes an offer, not a rule: "The Holiday Inn Express Duluth North would love to host your hockey Team." It points teams to the hotel's contact on that page to ask about a room block.

It lists 16 events on NorthStar Ford Arena's site, with a 4 game guarantee for all tournaments. The page names no penalty, and its tournament rules section reads "coming soon." It does not give a rink for each event. The arena is at 4309 Ugstad Rd. in Hermantown.

The page says to email the arena if you want a waitlist spot for a full event.

Which hotels are closest to the rinks?

By our drive-time check on Oct 15, 2026, several hotels sit about 2 minutes from the DECC, including the Downtown Duluth Inn. Near the Heritage Center it is Motel 6 at 2 minutes, and near Mars Lakeview it is Tru by Hilton at 4 minutes.

In Superior, the Androy Hotel is about 2 minutes from Superior Ice Arena. At NorthStar Ford Arena, Skyline Court Motel is about 5 minutes. These are our estimates, not DAHA's list.

A close hotel may not be a DAHA partner. Check the rule on your tournament's page before you book, and see the Book Anywhere page for how we rank options.
