What to know
The Great Lake Skate runs seven levels at Sonju Arena in Two Harbors, from Bantam B1 on Dec 4 to Mite 2 on Feb 13. The host lists 4 guaranteed games for 12U, Peewee and Bantam, and 3 for 10U, Squirt and Mites, assuming a full field.
Fees per team: Bantam B1 $1,000, Peewee B1 and 12U B $925, Squirt B2 and 10U B $775, Mite 2 $325, Mite 1 $300. When we checked, Bantam B1 and Peewee B1 were marked closed with a waiting list, as was 12U B.
The host calls Superior Shores the preferred lodging partner for the tournaments and jamborees. We found no rule on that page that says teams must book there. The 10U and Squirt events are pin trading tournaments.
By our drive-time check, the closest hotel to Sonju Arena is Vine & Branches Inn at about 1 minute by car. Next are Country Inn of Two Harbors (3 min) and Voyageur Motel (3 min).
