The housing rule
As a condition of acceptance to the tournament, all out-of-town teams MUST reserve rooms through MYHockey Tournaments and stay in an authorized hotel at tournament rates. A minimum of 24 room nights is mandatory (e.g., 12 rooms x 2 nights = 24 room nights).
Read the rule on the official site. We checked this on Oct 14, 2026.
Exemptions the rules list
- Teams whose home rink is 70 miles or less from the tournament rink are not out-of-town teams. Quote: "Any team whose home rink is more than 70 miles from the tournament rink will be considered an out-of-town team"
Penalty the rules list: Failure to comply will result in expulsion from the tournament, and registration fees will not be refunded. Teams that do not meet [the 24 room night] requirement will be ineligible for semi-final or championship play during the tournament.
Refund policy: Teams canceling their tournament entry more than thirty (30) days before the tournament start date are entitled to a refund of their registration fees minus a non-refundable $500 deposit. Teams canceling within thirty (30) days of the tournament start date are not entitled to any type of refund. Source.
What to know
The rules say out-of-town teams (home rink more than 70 miles away) must book through MYHockey Tournaments. The minimum is 24 room nights, such as 12 rooms for 2 nights.
Miss the 24 room nights and the team is ineligible for semi-final or championship play. Book elsewhere and the rules say expulsion with no refund of registration fees.
MYHockey's own page says it receives a commission from partner hotels for rooms booked through its program. Team rates run $142 to $199 a night plus tax, and 11 of 12 hotels showed Sold Out when we checked.
Games are at the St. Louis Park Rec Center (outdoor rink) and Bloomington Ice Garden. Entry runs $1,950 (10U) to $2,300 (16U and 18U).
