As of Oct 22, 2026, 82 of the 88 live USSSA Florida baseball events with a 2027 date carry a notice telling non-local teams to book through USSSA.

I counted these straight from our records, one per event, each with its own checked date. Hosts edit pages, so reread yours before you pay.

The count

The answer: 82 events carry the notice, 4 post a no-stay-to-play answer, 2 post no lodging rule. Counts are as of Oct 22, 2026.

We hold 128 live baseball records whose source is flbaseball.usssa.com. Of those, 88 have at least one date in 2027. The other 40 are fall 2026 events.

  • Notice for non-local teams: 82
  • Says no stay-to-play rule: 4
  • No lodging rule posted: 2

The 88 are not spread evenly. By the date each one ends, January has 5, February 15, March 13, April 18, May 22, June 10 and July 5. Sarasota leads with 15, then Pinellas Park with 12, Pensacola with 9 and Fort Walton Beach with 7.

The notice, word for word

The answer: it is one sentence, repeated with the event name swapped in. Our records stored it that way on Oct 15 to 22, 2026.

Here is the wording for Kick Off Classic in Bradenton and Palmetto, Jan 23 and 24, 2027: "When booking your travel and lodging arrangements for Kick Off Classic, cities are now requiring non-local teams to book through our USSSA platform for accurate event reporting."

I opened the host page today, Oct 22, 2026, and the sentence is there. The page also has a second sentence our record did not store, saying that using the platform means registration fees do not increase. Three of our records already store that line.

Two more pages read today

The answer: the same notice showed up on two more host pages on Oct 22, 2026. One page had the longer version.

Sprowls Horizon Winter Warm Up is in Pinellas Park, Jan 23 and 24, 2027. Its page reads: "When booking your travel and lodging arrangements for Sprowls Horizon Winter Warm Up, cities are now requiring non-local teams to book through our USSSA platform for accurate event reporting."

7th ANNUAL FIRECRACKER AA/AAA WORLD SERIES is in Melbourne, July 3 to 8, 2027. Its page carries the same sentence plus the registration fee sentence. It also says USSSA has partnered with an online travel platform and does not name it.

What the notice does not say

The answer: as stored, it names no penalty, no deadline and no definition of local. That is as of Oct 22, 2026.

  • Local: the records note the page does not define it. Ask the organizer in writing which side of the line your team is on.
  • Penalty: none stated in any of the 82 records.
  • Deadline: none stated.
  • Exemptions: none beyond the non-local wording.
  • Who the city is: the sentence says "cities" and names none.

The sentence also gives a reason, accurate event reporting. It does not say what happens to a team that books elsewhere. I will not guess that for you.

Our status for these 82 is "required", because the page tells non-local teams to book through the platform. That is the fair reading of the sentence. A local team is not addressed at all.

Four that post a no-stay-to-play answer

The answer: four 2027 events answer the housing question on a linked FAQ or info page, not on the event page itself. I read all four of those pages on Oct 22, 2026 and the wording matches our records.

PANAMA CITY BEACH WORLD SERIES WEEK 1, June 1 to 6, and Panama City Beach World Series Week 2, June 8 to 13, both answer: "No. This event is not a Stay-to-Play event."

Pensacola Beach World Series Week 1, June 15 to 20, and Pensacola Beach World Series Week 2, June 22 to 27, answer: "NO, you may stay wherever you like, and highly suggest looking into VRBO or Air bnb, as there are a ton of houses and properties within a close distance to the park."

The Pensacola wording is on the host's World Series FAQ (Week 1) and Week 2 info page. The Panama City Beach wording is on the host's FAQ (Week 1) and know-before-you-go page (Week 2). The four event pages themselves show only hotel search links and a note about hotels centered between venues, with no stay-to-play statement. Panama City Beach says the event is not Stay-to-Play. Pensacola says you may stay wherever you like. Check the linked page for your week before you book.

Two with no lodging rule posted

The answer: FORT WALTON BEACH WORLD SERIES, June 30 to July 4, 2027, and PENSACOLA BEACH WORLD SERIES WEEK 3, July 6 to 11, post no hotel requirement. Checked Oct 17, 2026.

That is not the same as a Book Anywhere statement. Ask the director if you need it in writing.

A different wording, fall 2026 only

The answer: five fall 2026 events use a stronger sentence that covers all teams. None has a 2027 date.

The wording, stored Oct 15 and 18, 2026: "Please be advised that the East Coast Florida State Championship has a "stay to play" requirement, meaning that all participating teams and attendees must book their accommodations through the designated housing provider(s) affiliated with the event."

The five are Battle for the Belts (Belts), East Coast Florida State Championship, Space Coast Toys for Tots (Rings), Thanksgiving Super NIT (Rings) and The Elf Games - Space Coast. They run Nov 14 to Dec 20, 2026.

This is a different sentence from the 2027 notice. It says "all participating teams", not non-local teams. Keep the two apart.

How to read your own event

The answer: find your event on its host page, copy the lodging sentence, and keep a dated screenshot.

For the full list with checked dates, see the Florida baseball tournaments. For how we label rules, see the stay-to-play report.

Treat the first email from the director as the tiebreaker. If the page and the email disagree, ask which one governs, in writing.
