As of Oct 16, 2026, all 12 live PGF qualifiers in our data are marked required for hotels. Eleven quote one rule: 75 miles or more, Traveling Teams, an $800 buyout.

What does the PGF qualifier housing rule say?

On Oct 16, 2026, 11 of 12 PGF qualifier pages carried this sentence, word for word: "Upon acceptance to the tournament, all teams traveling 75 miles or more to participate, must reserve their rooms through Traveling Teams and stay in a Premier Girls Fastpitch approved property, at the tournament rates, or your team will be subject to a $800 housing buyout fee."

That is the core rule. It names a distance (75 miles), a partner (Traveling Teams) and a price ($800). It applies "upon acceptance," so it kicks in after PGF accepts your team, not before.

The PGF national qualifiers page also lists, as item 4 of its requirements: All National Qualifiers are "Stay to Play" events.

What else is on the page besides the buyout?

The same pages add an 8 room minimum, a pro-rated fee and a warning about future events. All of it is on the 11 pages that carry the 75 mile rule, as of Oct 16, 2026.

The pages say: "There is a mandatory 8 room minimum per team (not organization), per night, during the teams stay for tournament play." They also say the minimum lifts once a team is eliminated from tournament play. A team under the minimum owes "a pro-rated hotel buyout fee of $100 per room short of the 8 room minimum."

The pages also say: "Failure to use tournament hotels will jeopardize your team's participation in future events." We read that as PGF's own words about future entry, and we found no detail on what it means in practice. One more line reads: "Do not book your Hotel through any other travel agent."

Which PGF qualifier pages do we have?

Twelve, from Nov 7, 2026 to Jun 6, 2027, as of Oct 16, 2026. Eleven use the Traveling Teams rule. Each links to our page and the PGF page we read.

Our pages also carry the venue, entry fee and team caps from the PGF page. Check those against the PGF page before you pay.

Is Las Vegas the same rule?

No. The Las Vegas Qualifier, Nov 7 to 8, 2026, uses a different partner and a different price. As of Oct 16, 2026, the PGF page says HBC, not Traveling Teams.

The page says: "THIS IS A STAY-TO-PLAY EVENT." It adds: "If you would like to opt-out of booking your rooms through HBC, there is a non-negotiable $750 buy-out fee." It also says buy-outs must be received two weeks prior to the tournament date.

The Las Vegas page states an "8 room/2 night minimum" and a pro-rate of $93.75 per room short. We found no 75 mile line in its text.

Games are at Majestic Park, 3997 North Hualapai Way. Our list of hotels near Majestic Park Las Vegas puts Hampton, La Quinta Inn & Suites Las Vegas Summerlin Tech and Home2 Suites at 10 minutes by car, checked Oct 15, 2026.

Read it as written, and do not assume the Traveling Teams rule applies. The PGF event page is the source.

What about the PGF National Championships?

The PGF Nationals hotel page quotes a larger number: $2,400.00. As of Oct 16, 2026, it applies to "all out of town registered teams traveling 75 miles or more."

The page's penalty for the 8 room minimum is $300.00 per room night under it. That is a different rule from the qualifier rule.

Our National Championships record is still a draft, so we do not link a page for it. The source is pgfnationals.com/hotels.

Are there exemptions?

One, and it is the distance line. Teams traveling less than 75 miles are not covered by the rule as written, because the sentence only names teams "traveling 75 miles or more."

The pages we read do not say how the miles are measured, from what address or by what route. They also list no other exemption. We found no booking deadline on the 11 Traveling Teams pages, but the Las Vegas page has one: its hotel links expire 3 weeks before the entry deadline.

What should a parent check?

Check the event page first, then your manager, then the room math. Do it before the entry is accepted, because the rule starts at acceptance.

  • Open the PGF page for your event above and read the sentence yourself. Pages change.
  • Ask your team manager how many miles your team travels and who is counting them.
  • Count rooms. The minimum is 8 rooms per night, so a short team pays $100 per missing room on the 11 qualifier pages.
  • Ask about the late window. The pages say room blocks "typically release 3 weeks prior to arrival" and later requests face limited availability.
  • Ask PGF for a written answer on anything unclear and keep the reply.
