2027 Baseball Tournaments That Let You Book Any Hotel: 14 Events Quoted

As of Oct 24, 2026, 14 baseball events on our list, outside Ripken, say in their own words that families pick their own hotel. Eight are Perfect Game, four are USSSA, and one each is Baseball World Series and Cooperstown All Star Village.

We re-read every host page on that date and kept only the lines we could still see. Rules change, so read the live page before you book. Nothing here is a ruling on your team.

Which Perfect Game events say you choose your own lodging?

The eight Gulf Coast World Series weeks, May 27 to Jul 17, 2027, all say it, as of Oct 24, 2026. Each page reads: "This is not a "stay to play" event, so you choose your own lodging."

Weeks 1 to 5 are listed in Gulf Shores, AL. Weeks 6 to 8 are listed at Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, AL, though the Week 6 to 8 page titles say Gulf Shores. The Week 6 and 7 pages are the AA editions.

Which USSSA events say you can stay wherever you like?

Four USSSA Florida beach weeks, Jun 1 to 27, 2027, say so, as of Oct 24, 2026. Two are in Panama City Beach and two are in Pensacola.

The Panama City Beach pages say: "No. This event is not a Stay-to-Play event."

The Pensacola pages answer a question about opting out. They say: "NO, you may stay wherever you like, and highly suggest looking into VRBO or Air bnb, as there are a ton of houses and properties within a close distance to the park."

The Panama City Beach games are at Publix Sports Park. The Pensacola event pages list Exchange Park, NEP Sports Complex and Drummond Park, so check which field your pool plays on.

What about Baseball World Series and Cooperstown?

Baseball World Series at Lake of the Ozarks, Jul 7 to 11, 2027, does not require its housing partner, as of Oct 24, 2026. The page reads: "This event is not part of the Preferred Hotel Program. Teams are not required to book lodging through Event Connect to participate."

The same page encourages families to use its negotiated group rates. That is a suggestion, not a rule. The park is Ballparks National in Macks Creek, MO.

Cooperstown All Star Village, in Oneonta, NY, runs 16 weeks from May 30 to Sep 3, 2027, as of Oct 24, 2026. Its FAQ says: "This is your family vacation, so you choose to stay where you're most comfortable - no restrictions."

The rule is about families. Players and coaches sleep in the on-site bunkhouses that come with the tournament package, per our record of the host's packages page.

What about Ripken?

Ripken says the same thing, as of Oct 24, 2026. Its FAQ reads: "Events at The Ripken Experience do not have stay-to-play requirements."

Ripken has dozens of 2027 events across three parks, so it has its own post with dates and prices. Read Ripken Baseball Stay to Play Rules 2027 for the list.

What does Book Anywhere mean on TourneyTrip?

It is a badge for a tournament whose published rules say teams may book any hotel. We earn it from the rules alone, link the rule and show the date we checked it.

Nobody can buy the badge, and a tournament cannot ask us to hide it. If the rules change, the badge goes away and the page says so. The full definition is on the Book Anywhere page.

What should you still check?

Read the event's refund terms, because choosing your own hotel does not change them. The Gulf Coast pages say: "NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AT ANYTIME AFTER PAYMENT. PERFECT GAME WILL HOLD A CREDIT TO A FUTURE EVENT IF NOTICE OF CANCELLATION IS GIVEN AT LEAST 3 WEEKS PRIOR."

Baseball World Series says no cash, check or card refunds are issued once a fee is paid, unless it cancels the event. It lists credit options for teams that cancel.

Cooperstown's FAQ says cancellation refunds ran through Oct 1, 2026, which has passed. Your hotel has its own cancellation terms too, so read them before you pay. Our cancellation policy post covers what to look for.

Then check the drive. Our records list the closest mapped hotels to each park. Courtyard Gulf Shores Craft Farms is about 4 minutes from Gulf Shores Sportsplex, tied with two others.

Spring Hill Suites by Marriott at The Wharf is about 6 minutes from Orange Beach Sportsplex. Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Panama City Beach is about 3 minutes from Publix Sports Park, also tied with two others.

One of the closest hotels we found to Ballparks National is Dave's Hideaway, about 13 minutes away. Lodging near Macks Creek is sparse in our list.
