As of Oct 25, 2026, Perfect Game's Lodging Policy says teams traveling more than 100 miles from the host venue book through EventConnect or pay a Hotel Waiver Fee. The fee is (tournament days minus 1) times $200. Teams within 100 miles are exempt. In our data, 98 of 135 live Perfect Game events carry this rule.
Rules change, so read the live Lodging Policy page for your event before you pay. Nothing here is a ruling on your team.
What is the 100-mile rule?
Teams located within 100 miles of the host venue are local and exempt, per the Lodging Policy wording we captured on Oct 25, 2026. The exact line reads: "Teams located within 100 miles of the host venue are considered local and are exempt from the Perfect Game Lodging Policy requirement."
The page does not say how the 100 miles is measured. Ask Perfect Game housing at PGhousing@eventconnect.io before you assume your team counts as local.
What is the Hotel Waiver Fee?
The fee is (number of tournament days - 1) x $200, as captured Oct 25, 2026. The policy says: "Teams traveling more than 100 miles from the primary host venue are required to secure hotel accommodations through Perfect Game's official lodging platform, EventConnect, or pay the designated Hotel Waiver Fee."
So a team farther than 100 miles books rooms through EventConnect unless the team pays the fee. The policy prints the formula, not a dollar total for each event. The totals below are our calculation.
What does a 3-day event cost under the formula?
The 2027 PG Michigan Open State Tournament runs Jun 4 to 6, 2027 at Canton Sports Center in Canton, MI. That is 3 days, so by our calculation (3 - 1) x $200 comes to $400.
The event page, checked Oct 25, 2026, posts 16 minimum room nights. The 8U Open entry fee is listed at $500. Here is the event page with the full rule text.
What does a 5-day event cost under the formula?
The 2027 PG WWBA South Invitational runs Jun 3 to 7, 2027 in Tomball, TX. That is 5 days, so by our calculation (5 - 1) x $200 comes to $800.
Its page posts 32 minimum room nights and a $2,095 team entry fee for 15U, 16U and 17U, checked Oct 25, 2026. The $800 is our calculation, not a printed price. See the WWBA South Invitational page.
What happens to a team that is not compliant?
The policy says: "If a team is found to be non-compliant after being scheduled, the team may be deemed ineligible for future Perfect Game events until the waiver fee is resolved." That wording is from the page as captured Oct 25, 2026.
The same page says all required room nights must be reserved by the first day of the tournament. Perfect Game decides how a team is counted, so confirm with housing.
How many Perfect Game events carry the rule?
As of Oct 25, 2026, 98 of the 135 live Perfect Game events in our data are required, 20 are unclear and 17 say Book Anywhere. Events added after that date are not in the count. We checked the event pages between Oct 15 and Oct 25, 2026.
All 98 required records carry the 100-mile and Hotel Waiver Fee wording. The 20 unclear pages do not state a clear rule. The 17 Book Anywhere pages include the PG Back to School Bash, which says "THIS IS NOT A STAY TO PLAY EVENT & NO HOTEL IS REQUIRED."
How many room nights do the required events post?
Among the 98 required events, the posted minimum is 8 room nights on 38, 16 on 7, 24 on 20, 32 on 26, 40 on 2 and 48 on 5. These are the numbers on the event pages as of Oct 25, 2026.
Eight room nights is the most common figure, and it tends to sit on the shorter events. The Lodging Policy page lists 8 room nights for a 2-day event, 16 for 3 days, 24 for 4, 32 for 5, 40 for 6 and 48 for 7. Our earlier 23-event room night table lists the posted figure for each event. The WWBA and BCS post covers the 24 to 48 range.
