2027 Girls Volleyball National Qualifiers: Housing Rules, Event by Event

As of Oct 23, 2026, 22 of 24 girls volleyball qualifiers in our data require event housing, 1 says Book Anywhere and 1 is unclear.

We checked each host page between Oct 15 and Oct 23, 2026, so a rule may have changed since. For how the wording differs across circuits, see our earlier post on volleyball qualifier housing rules.

This post is the dated 2027 table. Nothing here is a ruling on your team.

Which 2027 girls qualifiers require housing, and which do not?

As of Oct 23, 2026, we counted live volleyball records with "qualifier" in the name, a division level or the page slug, and with girls divisions. That gave 24. Boys-only qualifiers are left out.

Of the 24, 22 are marked required, 1 is Book Anywhere and 1 is unclear. None is marked suggested. We found no AAU qualifier in our data, so AAU is not covered here.

The table is in date order. "Rule status" is our label. The last column of text is the host's rule, not our reading of it.

Which qualifiers name a mileage exemption?

As of Oct 23, 2026, 9 of the 22 required events name a mileage in their rule text. A team inside the radius is treated as local, and the radius differs by event.

• Florida Fest and Florida Regional 18s: a team whose practice facility is within 75 miles of the venue, or an individual who stays with a friend or family member who lives "within 75 miles of the convention center." A whole team asks for that one by email. Two more exemptions cover redeeming points for "an entirely free stay" and an individual military or government discount, each verified.
• ASICS Martin Luther King Day: "Teams within 65 miles are considered local and are exempt from hotel requirements."
• Pacific Northwest Qualifier: "Local teams (60 miles or less one way) are exempt," and the record says to contact the host to verify.
• NIKE Boston: the rule covers "ALL clubs residing more than 60 miles from the playing venue." The page asks local teams that do not need rooms to contact the host.
• NIKE Ace of Clubs and NIKE Finale: the policy covers "teams who are traveling 60 miles or more to designated NCR hosted tournaments." The policy page says nothing more about teams closer than that.
• Mizuno Northern Lights: local means within 50 miles of the Minneapolis Convention Center. A team with less than 80% of its players inside 50 miles is not local.
• Windy City: the commuter exemption is 50 miles from the venue. Military and hotel-loyalty-point requests go to Capitol Sports and need tournament director approval.

Big South and Music City do not give a number. Their pages tell local clubs to email the host and not to assume they are local.

What do the penalties actually say?

As of Oct 23, 2026, 8 of the 22 required events state a penalty. They are not the same kind of penalty.

Red Rock Rave 1, 2 and 3 are the only ones in this list with a per-room dollar figure. Each says teams "that fall short of the required rooms must pay a $100 penalty per unbooked room per night in order to remain eligible." The record adds that the penalty is due before the first match.

NIKE Ace of Clubs and NIKE Finale say a team that misses the minimum "may have tournament registration removed until compliant." They add that a team "may be subject to a housing penalty fee up to $1000.00 and/or disqualification from the tournament with no team fee refund."

Big South and Music City use the same 24 hour language. It reads: "After 24 hours, if the situation is not corrected, your acceptance status into Music City may be cancelled or a financial penalty will be required to be reinstated." Big South says the same with its own name. Both pages say the event sets the penalty amount.

Florida Fest is the one with a hard date. It says: "After December 23, 2026 at 3:00pm, teams that are not compliant will be dropped and wait list teams will be given notice of entry."

Required, with no exemption found

As of Oct 23, 2026, 11 of the 22 required events list no mileage and no local-team route in their rule text. Three are the Red Rock Rave events. The other eight are:

• ASICS Show Me: "All teams will have to make hotel reservations through TTS in order to compete." As of Oct 21, 2026, the page set TTS booking to open Oct 14 for April 10 to 12 and Oct 26 for April 16 to 18.
• AVC Qualifier (Dallas): "Teams must book hotels through the tournament block." Housing opened Oct 19, 2026 and no close date is posted.
• Far Western (Reno): "12 Room Nights per Team Required for Acceptance." The record found neither a local exemption nor a penalty.
• Southeast Qualifier: "This is a Stay and Play event for all ages and divisions." No exemption or penalty is posted.
• Golden Gate, Salt Lake City Showdown and Sunshine Classic: acceptance is tied to housing through Team Travel Source. Golden Gate and Salt Lake say the status "Accepted" comes once "payment is received and your housing is confirmed." None posts a room minimum.
• NIKE Mid-East: "all out-of-town teams must reserve rooms through the event's designated housing company." The page says reservations made directly with a hotel will not count. The rule text gives no mileage, though the booking pages carry a "5 rooms / 60 mi" badge that we did not count as an exemption.

Red Rock Rave 2 and 3 add that "ALL teams must book DIRECTLY through KC Sports Housing and not through the hotel or other third-party sites."

The one Book Anywhere qualifier and the one unclear

As of Oct 15, 2026, the Girls West Coast Junior National Qualifier is the only Book Anywhere qualifier in our data. The page says: "The 2027 Girls West Coast Qualifier is not a Stay and Play event, however; Team Travel Source has a housing block to assist with team rooms."

Weekend 1 is Jan 9 to 11 and weekend 2 is Jan 16 to 18, 2027, in Anaheim. Booking through Team Travel Source is optional under the rule we found.

The No Dinx/NCVA Sierra qualifier in Sacramento is marked unclear. Its page reads: "Room Night Requirements: 12 room nights for a three day event. Example: 4 rooms booked for three nights." Elsewhere it says to "book your accommodations through our housing partner, THS."

Our record marks it unclear because the page posts no penalty and no exemption.

Ask NCVA or THS before you book.

What about the national championships?

As of Oct 23, 2026, our data has 5 more girls national events. They are not qualifiers, but your team may be headed to one.

Both USA Volleyball Girls Junior National Championships say: "This is a Stay and Play event; all housing must be booked through Team Travel Source." Housing links go to the club director "the week following a team earning a bid."

JVA says for its 18U National Championship and the World Challenge: "JVA does not have a stay to play policy; however, teams and families are encouraged to book their hotel accommodations through TTS." The Girls Junior Club Championship page posts no hotel requirement as of Oct 23, 2026, so ask the event director.

The other 17 live volleyball events in our data are JVA hosted events, boys events, classics and regionals. They are not in this post.

What to check before you book

The 24 qualifiers run from Jan 9 to Apr 25, 2027, and several have two or three weekends with different ages, so the dates above may not be yours. Far Western, Mizuno Northern Lights, NIKE Boston, NIKE Mid-East and Pacific Northwest all do.

Check the status step before the housing step. Show Me, Golden Gate, Salt Lake City Showdown and Sunshine Classic say only teams in "ok to pay" status get housing access.

Pacific Northwest says each team must be "registered, paid, and pending" before booking rooms with THS. Sunshine's page listed a Nov 1, 2026 payment deadline that has now passed, so check your status first.

Put the deadlines in the team chat. Florida Fest housing is due Dec 23, 2026 at 3:00pm. ASICS MLK entry closes Dec 31, 2026, and rosters not complete by Jan 1 move to the waitlist.

Golden Gate registration closes Dec 31, 2026. Far Western registration and payment close Feb 1, 2027 at 9:00 am.

Ask about fees. Windy City lists a "booking fee: $12 flat per reservation, non-refundable regardless of the hotel's cancellation policy." The Mid-East booking pages on Integrated Tournament Solutions also show a $12.00 booking fee per reservation. NIKE Boston says its block rates include a rebate the tournament uses to offset facility costs.

Check your mileage in writing where the radius is vague. If you think you qualify as local, send the email the page names before you pick a hotel. Our post on how to ask for an exemption has wording that works.

Last, read your own hotel's cancellation terms. Big South and Music City say hotel deposits and entry fees are non-refundable if the contract and entry are cancelled.
